Tobi embarked on her professional journey in the photography industry in New York City. She began as a lighting and digital technician, supporting renowned photographers, ultimately serving as the manager of the Digital Equipment Department at Root/DriveIn Studios in Brooklyn. It was there that she was fortunate to meet her mentor, a top-tier retoucher who imparted his vast knowledge to her and ultimately passed on his clients.

As a retoucher and digital technician, Tobi has observed a scarcity of women working in these fields. Thus, when she met other women in the industry, they banded together, sharing their insights and expertise. This cadre of talented and resourceful women has since grown into TobiAnn Studios, which Tobi is privileged to lead. Collaborating with such skilled, creative, and dedicated women who share her passion for photography has been a profound source of joy and inspiration.
